On the 2nd and 3rd of August, four of VHS's learners participated in the "Eskom Expo for Young Scientists", at the Multipurpose Centre in Saldanha.
Adrian Muller in Grade 9 won a Bronze medal with the topic, "How bioenergy can become an alternative renewable energy source".
Nadine Roux in Grade 9 won a Silver medal with the topic, "To determine which household products can be used as an alternative fertilizer to help plants grow taller".
Lyla Makau in Grade 11 also won a Silver medal, as well as the first of three Special Awards for the Best Water and Sanitation project, with the topic, "To determine which fruit peel, with its nutrients, can promote the fastest rate for plant growth".
Thiedu du Preez in Grade 9 won a Gold medal, as well as the Special Award for the Best Senior project, with the topic, "To find a cover to improve the temperature of soil for better germination of seeds".
Well done to these learners on reaping the rewards of their hard work and dedication.
